The nordic fish firm which values tradition and innovation

Hätälä Oy produces and markets quality fish products to retail firms and wholesale businesses. Finnish and foreign fresh fish as well as ready made fish products can be found in the selection.

Hätälä Oy was founded in Oulu in 1975 to continue the business of J. Hätälä. Production still takes place mainly in Oulu, where the company has 4 900 m² of production facilities. Dried stockfish and herring fillets are prepared in Himanka. Additionally the company has a sales office in Seinäjoki for western Finland. Hätälä employs a staff of about 50. The turnover in 2007 was around 17,40 million euros.

The construction of the new fish processing factory, which was completed in 2005, strengthened Hätälä's business in Oulu further. With the new factory the company entered the era of 21st century fish processing. At the same time Hätälä's retail product selection was renewed. Two product lines were born: Kalavalmis and KàlaCarte. All these changes served one clear purpose: to allow us to respond to the costumer's needs even better.
